Quite Lazy....

....well, at least with producing all these small things for my shop I have been quite lazy.
I spent some quality time with my kids at my parents before we leave for the States in a few weeks. We played with my parent´s dogs, we had bbq, enjoyed the warm days and sunbeams (I even got some color) and the kids spent lots of time with their friends in the tiny little village my parents life in.

Other than that I have been painting a lot lately. I think I found my very own "field" now....what feels quite awesome! :)

I hope to start to be productive with my minis really soon again. It will be just 36 days before we leave for 5 weeks vacation and I am not planning to take my work with me :)

Oh je! Ja, eine ganze Menge. Alles verschiedene Dinge, meist Häkelarbeiten. Fein säuberlich in einen riesen Karton gestopft um irgendwann (wahrscheinlich eher in den kalten Wintermonaten) wieder befreit und zu Ende gebracht zu werden.

2. Was sind deine 3 kreativen Lieblingsbücher?

Im großen und ganzen benutze ich eigentlich nur noch das Internet. Da kann ich explizit nach dem suchen, was ich brauche oder wissen möchte. Die meisten Bücher erscheinen mir für meine Bedürfnisse unvollständig. ;)
Aber ab und an leihe ich mir auch mal ein Buch aus der Bibliothek aus.


3. Seid wann machst du schon Ding mit den Händen / bist du Teil der Handmade-Bewegung / machst du DIY?

Ich war eigentlich seit klein auf ein kreatives Köpfchen und immer an Handarbeiten und DIY interessiert. Am liebsten habe ich in Opa´s Werkstatt mit Holz gearbeitet oder saß stundenlang am Küchentisch und habe gemalt. Leider wurde diese Kreativität nicht sonderlich gefördert oder nicht erkannt. Ich habe dann einen vollkommen unkreativen und unpassenden Beruf erlernt. Immer mal wieder habe ich zu Pinsel und Farbe gekriffen. Einfach um mich zu befreien und zu entfliehen. Aber erst nachdem mein Sohn (2.Kind) geboren wurde, versuche ich meiner Kreativ wieder Flügel zu geben. Eine Freundin zeigte mir den Schmuck, den sie selbst hergestellt hatte. Ich war angefixt und machte auch so einige Schmuckstücke.
Da ich aber selbst keine Schmuckträgerin bin, habe ich schnell feststellen müssen, dass es zwar Spaß macht Schmuck herzustellen, es mich aber nicht erfüllt.
Heute häkele ich, stelle Miniaturen für Puppenhäuser her und greife zwischendurch immer noch gern zu Pinsel und Farbe.

My little Shopping Street

I have started my little shopping street last week. It was planned since awhile and finally I had the time and tools to get started.


And I discovered a new talent or shall I say old passion. Wood has always been my favorite material. I love how it smells and the different grain. As a child I used to play with wood in my granddads workshop ... rasp, saw, hammer....
One afternoon my mom and I were surfing through all these lovely doll house miniature onlineshops to find furniture for my shopping street. Not really finding what I was looking for I thought to myself that I could try to make my own counter and shelfs. So I ran in my dad´s workshop, got all the tools I needed and some of the wood that was left over from my mom´s doll house and started to create. :)

 1. Wie sieht dein Arbeitsplatz jetzt gerade in diesem Moment aus? Nicht schummeln! Wir wollen das wahre Leben sehen!
Zum Glück habe ich die neuen Donnerstagfragen ganz früh am Morgen entdeckt. Als alles noch schön ordentlich aussah. Also schnell die Kamera raus und ein paar Bilder geknipst:

Ohje, also das ist reichlich schwierig. Es gibt so viele kreative Köpfe und schöne,  tolle, lustige, atemberaubende Produkte auf Etsy, dass die Entscheidung da nicht leicht fällt. 
Ich mach es schnell und schmerzlos:

1. Dein wichtigstes Arbeitsutensil am Arbeitsplatz?
Das ist einfach: mein wichtigstes Arbeitsutensil ist die Kreativität. 
Wenn diese mal wieder auf Abwegen ist, geht gar nichts mehr. 
Meist nutze ich diesen Tag dann zum Fotografieren und Einstellen neuer Artikel in meinen Etsy-Shop. 

2. Zeit-Management bedeutet für dich?
Zeit ist definitiv Mangelware in meinem Alltag. 
Aber ich glaube, dass ich im Großen und Ganzen alles gut unter einen Hut bekomme. 

3. Was hast du zuletzt nur für dich genäht/gedruckt/gestrickt/gemacht?
Das letzte was ich für mich/uns gemacht habe waren gehäkelte Kissenhüllen und eine Decke für unser Wohnzimmer.

My name is Ani. I ´m a mom of two wonderful children and live with my family in Berlin Germany.
I model miniature food in small batches. These are used in doll houses, miniature bakeries, fruit and vegetable stalls, the butcher or other miniature scenes. This requires attention to detail and scale accuracy to which I look at my ongoing newly appearing miniatures.
All my miniatures are 100% handmade. I do not use push molds.
I love to take costume orders  and every now and then I turn my miniatures in delicious jewelry.
